Four Recommended Reads from Frederator Books Chances are, if you have kids, you had to stay home for a sick day recently. Little Petri dishes, aren’t they? Hopefully between the water refills, saltine runs, and loads of laundry, you have time to catch up on your one-on-one snuggle time. Here are a few great titles to help you get through a rough sick day. 1) Comfort Rhymes… For younger kids, Llama Llama Home with Mama by Anna Dewdney book is very cute, funny, and the illustrations are adorable. Reading it to kids lets them know they’re not alone when they feel rotten. 2) Laughter is the Best Medicine… The LIEography of Harry Houdini by Alan Katz (on sale tomorrow!) puts a silly spin on the life of the famous escape artist. This book will entertain elementary school kids and peak their interest in the life of this fascinating historical figure. 3) Sentimental Snuggles… Con: Reading to your sick child from Love you Forever by Robert Musch will probably bring tears to your eyes. The sentimental story makes you grateful for the chance to hold your sick little one close and read. Pro: You will definitely not miss work for at least an hour after you read this book—you’ll be too busy appreciating the things that really matter. 4) Build the Mystery… If you are in for a long haul with a flu or nasty infection, break into a chapter book mystery like Harriet the Spy by Louise Fitzhugh.
