Thomas Edison invented the lightbulb.  Without it, disco balls wouldn’t be as awesome.  That’s a lie.  Disco balls are inherently awesome.

Let the Wild Rumpus Begin… Frederator Recommended Reading: Where the Wild Things Are Maurice Sendak was not a fan of ebooks. He was quoted in a 2012 Mashable article as saying, “…I hate those ebooks. They cannot be the future. They may well be…” We think they are. Though ebooks weren’t able to sway Sendak, parents who love to read to their kids from tablets, smartphones, and other devices can rejoice. Where the Wild Things Are is available on the iPad, Nook, and Kindle Fire! —Sarah

This is our kind of dad. What a creative and fun way to say, “hope this sandwich doesn’t suck.”

Digital Parents: Reading Repetition It is unfathomable how many times a preschooler will want the same story read out loud to her. Over and over and over. While you might want to bang your head against the wall, you know that each time she reads the story she is hearing something new, understanding the story better, relating to the characters a little more. She is soaking the story in and absorbing everything it has to offer. It’s kind of like when you were a teenager and listening to that Nirvana or Nine Inch Nails song over and over again, each time finding a fresh, deeper meaning.  So… Give in, it’s happening. Read it again, Sam. Snuggle close and read often. —Sarah
